Hi
i also had a completely unworking Falcon, after an ct63 update failed.
In my case it failed because for the SDMA patch had used a too low resistor (47 Ohms, now using 75 Ohms).
Additionally to your problem, my Falcon stayed dead even without ct63 plugged.
Several people took a look at it and it seemed dead.
Solution was the NVRAM, my battery was also dead, but some weird bits were still set,
forcing the Videl into some non-displayable mode and halting the system.
I put in a known good NVRAM chip and the Falcon started working again.
The old chip was able to force other Falcons into the same "dead" state, if plugged there.
I removed the empty cell and replaced it with a good one, and still my Falcon wouldn't boot up if the chip was plugged. No Bootsector disk tool nor magic key combination would help.
In the end i booted up the Falcon with the borrowed good NVRAM chip, pulled it out of the socket while the Falcon was running (!) and then plugged the bad chip. Then i ran the bootconf.prg tool. VGA, TV, PAL and NTSC were _all_ set active, usually they toggle each other...
Since then, my Falcon runs rock stable. I can imagine that several Falcons went to the trashbin because of a bad NVRAM with weird bits inside.
My guess is, that with a working NVRAM chip, your Falcon comes alive again.
You probably had the "replace NVRAM" switch in the ct60conf.cpx enabled, but since your first update that data is invalid.
If i were you, i'd give replacing the NVRAM a shot. You have an MKT chip or the Dallas one? I can send you a working (refurbished) chip if you want.
Greetings, and good luck,
Beetle
