Re: ethernat driver cost

Hello Peter,

you are right, it is a kind of shareware and as I told I have no problems with that, but I can understand people who don´t like such a philosophy. Maybe it is just because the driver is not ready, yet...
The best thing I saw about shareware was a beerware... the author wanted to have a special beer from the country the user lives in and then he sends the key for the full version... this was a really nice feature and a possibility to appreciate the work of the coder, he gets a good feedback and remembers his good work by enjoying a nice bottle of beer ;)
I mean that you are right, noone can become rich with atari software, also I think NO user would have problems to spend money between 5-15 bucks for a good driver software, maybe even more... sure that´s my personal oppinion... but as here the price is not clear I think that people fear that they have to pay - let´s say - 100 $ for the complete driver package and that is far too much... maybe the best would have been that ethernat was 10 bucks more expensive and that money went to coda, because most people would like to use that drivers and then noone could have complained...

Cheers,

Mac
