Re: ethernat driver cost

To be fair, coding a complete USB stack so that devices can be added fairly easily and with little work, that is compatible across TOS/MiNT/MagiC, is really a full time job for a year at least.

However.

I am going to produce standalone drivers for mouse, keyboard, memory card etc, and maybe even a printer dump utility. I am currently working on the mouse driver, now that I have an Ethernat. These "all in one drivers" will be free of charge.

If there is enough interest and demand after that point, and if I feel like doing it, then I will proceed to code a USB stack and proper class drivers. For this software there will definately be a small price to pay.

Do you think that Roger Burrows shouldnt charge for Extendos, or Uwe Seimet for HDDriver? These softwares are essential for getting the best out of your Atari system, but there ARE free alternatives, that are quite usable that we are all welcome to use.
