This is a really difficult thing to talk
about, as it is about money and about how
much of it you want to spend for your hobby.
For me it's not a hobby as I use ONLY my
Falcon/CT60, for all my days work, so if
I want serious drivers/programs and they
cost money, I HAVE to pay, because I have
no alternatives.
If it would be just a hobby of mine, then
I would think twice to spend money for a
hardware, where I cannot calculate the
following costs of the software.
If I would now I have to pay 10 EUR and
will get the drivers then I'd have no
problem with that, but I have to pay for
it anyway :/ If there would be free alternatives
I surely would take them, although I have
no problem to pay for good software and
registered every shareware program I own
... so why not release a shareware version
and let people decide?
It's no problem if coda wants to do a
commercial product, but I understand if
some of you won't support that!
If I could code, I would do it for free,
as I would first code it for me :) and
would have no problems to share it with
all other atarians...
Paying for hardware is sth different,
as you "really" have producing costs,
shipping, etc, not "just" the time...
If I'd get money for sitting in front of
my atari, I would have been a rich man a
long time ago ;)
Cheers,
Don't be so serious, keep the community
together and have FUN with your ataris!

Mac
