Well, yeah, I can understand that sometime you need a few extra days after the party to fix some bugs, but having a demo compete at a party and then simply not releasing it for weeks/months is a bit strange to me.

I think after a certain grace period (say a week or two), the organizer should release the version that competed, then the authors are free to do a "100%" version later on.
