:)
I never imagined I'd be coding 68k and DSP again - or meeting old friends from the Atari scene. I was away a long time. And I keep bumping into your stuff while searching for bits and pieces so your rep precedes you!
I've started looking at how I might break the DSP code up to make space for more tricks. Having to pick it apart and de-optimize it to make some horrible changes but it's still working so far. Still not sure I can free up enough persistent stuff to get textures on there without a rewrite but will see what can be done.

hehe well it should turn out better than mine - I tried a perspective correct mapper for Quake years ago using the DSP, and raced it against the 68040 - but the 68040 won (not by a huge amount but it did win :) so I put it aside, meaning to try again sometime. I think in the race for speed it ended up being less accurate. I'll dig it out and see if it is in a decent state to try on a normal Falcon for fun.
It didn't store the texture on the DSP, just generated the index so that limited the speed a bit.
I tried a subdivided version of that to get the biggest sub-spans possible, but it was pretty wobbly - I found any decision making that affects the subspan break points will just aggravate existing visual error, so it's best to pick a span size and stick with it for the whole surface.

I'm pretty disappointed now I stopped doing Atari stuff generally. I really missed it. Nice to see so many skilled people hung around to do nice things.

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
