I would like to a few comments:
- I have a CT1 ev3 fitted in my falcon, which mean that even in unaccelerated mode my DSP remains at 50MHz... and for more than 10 years, so dsp's lifetime doesn't seem so much in danger.
- for mp3 decoding in falcamp, it's the main cpu that deals with the bitrate (count 50% cpu for 128kbit on std falcon), the dsp will receive the same number of blocks per second for a given frequency
