No, this is not a question of loosing compatibility or not. The reason I can't use the CT60's DSP clock wire is that it isn't working in boosted mode ATM. So my options are:
1. Not using boosted mode (this is what I really don't want)
2. Using the original 32Mhz clock
3. Using "external" clock
For me option 2 is the easiest.
Concerning option 3: I wanted to know if it is worth the effort or not (I'm not professional in soldering + the clock must be somehow fixed).
I agree that 50Mhz DSP is faster than 32Mhz, but If there is no use for the extra power (for me) then the DSP's lifetime is longer at lower speed.
Every MP3 I listened on my falcon was played fine with nonboosted MB.
3FPS vs 5FPS (or 5 vs 7?) is no difference in my opinion when playing a movie.
The only reason I found so far for faster DSP is image processing. And the applications that uses the DSP is very very limited. And I don't think that new ones will born.
