Right, where am I?
Patching the MAGIC.RAM? - OOPS!
No, I have just swapped the MAGXBOOT.PRG for the one in the archive.
I will re-try that in a short while.
That small menu thingy that comes up is a pain in the bum, can see that the CPX module will ( probably ) let me set thius so it does not come up... As with certain things like the Video mode and such like.
My Clock Chip is dead yes, but as a stock Falcon its rock solid, the only issue I havbe is that every so often, the clock resets to 00:00:00 but apart from that, its fine.
This is clearly NOT the case with the CT63 and I need it sorting.
I have tried to patch CuBase Audio but it fails to patch properly. I have a CAF_23 and a CAF_26 and they both fail, so I thought bugger it, Ill use CuBase Score but that also crashes too!!!
Do, thats annoyed me.
Kronos also crashed with a reg dump and it seems that pretty much anything crashes in a big way.
I seriously think that I have one of the Falcons that needs to be "Fixed" and if this is the case, then its quite likely that I will get Rodolf to sort it and do the Clock at the same time... Might as well.
I iwll have a look for the resistors that will mark out if I do indeed have one also in a short while.
How did I fit The CT63?
Plugged it in, no soldering.
I am happy to report that absolutely every stick of RAM that I have thrown into it have all come up showing me the correct info.... However... With the errors I am getting, this also means that its possible that every stick of ram I have, is not fully compatible either, but I see that crucial and kingston are supposed to be among the better choices and I have been a crucial user for many years with the PC.
Im currently using a PC133 CAS2 256MB stick right now. This particular stick has primed for 6 days at 145FSB, so I know for a fact its bit-perfect... I just hope its bit-perfect in the Falcon thats all.
I think my next port of call must be to sort out the clock, one way or another.
