Sometimes with new PSU ( highpower, like more than 450watt ) if there isn't enough load, they won't start trough properly ( some new powersupplies need at least 50 watts before starting).
That's what i've noticed in re-casing my falcon into a Asus bigtower. There was a 550 Watt PSU ( why need that many power anyway ? ;) ) and this didn't worked out, so I took a 350W PSU and it worked!
Try hooking up more devices and try again. btw. what brand is your PSU ?
