Falcon Modem1 - C-Lab Export
Posted by: Crash May,23.2006-08:35

I got the data sheets for the MFP, and was planning on using a Dallas DS275 to do the TTL to RS232 conversion. The Max232 requires extra capacitors, etc...

http://chaokhun.kmitl.ac.th/~kswichit/MAX232/MAX232.htm

I didn't assume that the RTS, DSR, CTS, and DTR from Modem2 would provide relevant messages if combined with the data from Modem1, but was hoping the information in the Doitf030 archive would help clarify matters.

From what I can tell, Notator and Logic are hard coded to send MIDI information for ports B-D to Modem1 (on the ST/TT), so I was hoping to be able to effectively attach the Export to the MFP and get these ports back.

I don't know if there is any way in software to redirect the data from Modem1 (device 6) to Modem2 (device 7).

Since the possibility of using high resolution modes with CTPCI, the main thing that is turning me away from using the Falcon for Logic is giving up these 3 MIDI ports.

In any case, I'm frustrated that I can't find the Doit archives (since the author removed all of them from his site, and apparently from mirrors and archive.org), even though I registered and got the password/keys last April.

Thanks!
