Hi Atarians,
problems to boot up after flashing were reported several times
and at several places.
My very own ct63 never showed trouble with that.
Now i got a Falcon /w ct60 to fix this problem and an additional
ct63.
The Falcon ct60 does work, up to date .jed files are programmed.
Though, it only boots up with boot 1.03c or 1.04. It will eventually
(read: not always) boot up with the sequence :
"start in 030 mode, switch to 060 Mode, reset once or twice".
I decided to leave it for the moment and try the ct63.
For that one i took my stock Falcon 030 and prepared it for the ct63.
(removed power supply and the jumper).
I put on the ct63, which also wouldn't boot. I flashed boot 1.03c and it
worked properly. I played around with NVRAM reset and bootconf tools,
checking "replace NVRAM" switch in the CPX and all, but no luck.
As soon boot 2.01 is in, it also wants to start only and not reliably
after 030 mode bootup and reset.
Additional annoyance was that this Falcons NVRAM was completly empty
and didn't keep settings for longer than some seconds of power loss.
I decided to replace NVRAM chip.
Guess what: Now flashing of boot 2.01 results in a fully working machine
that boots up in 060 mode every poweron.
I will replace the Falcon ct60's NVRAM Chip tomorrow and report.
