Hi Mikro,
to 1) Using the CTPCI1GB.BIN dated 29.3.10 i have, executing the VGA Bios in x86 Emu needs about 18 Seconds at power on. It is not nessecary to be executed another time as long you can warm-reboot (ctrl-alt-del or a shutdown tool like zTask provides). A reboot is as fast as you are used to.
to 3) choose your desired resolution in ct60conf.cpx (Boot->Video) and enter "videomode = 1" in xaaes.cnf instead of the 27 you had for Videl VGA in 256 colors. Or choose N.AES. Or choose GEM=ROM and execute MyAES.TOS as AUTOSTART from GEM Desktop (stored in newdesk.inf)
to 4) Under plain TOS, choose the Desktop resolution dialog of the GEM Desktop (its now the Radeon one) and choose VESA instead of XBIOS. Here you can also have full HD resolution choosed. Save Desktop. This saved Resolution is recognized by N.AES and GEM->MyAES. It would be nice to have VESA choice for boot resolution, though.
to 5) the leftmost contacts (if you have your Falcon in front of you) of any ATX Power Supply connector should be 3.3V (orange wires). I use a PicoPSU, which has no wires, so i took the 3.3V from bottom solderpoints of ct63, as well as the 5V, GND and 12V for the other power connector of the CTPCI subboard. I think its better to use the 3.3V your ATX PS produces anyway, instead to have a hot running 5V->3.3V DC/DC converter on the PCI subboard like the prototype had it.
to 6) I agree bending the Falcon Power connector is not nice, but this was decided to support CTPCI + EtherNAT or SuperVidel. The prototype had the IDE connector on top, leaving the Power connector free but colliding with other CT6x expansions. I think its a compromise we can all live with. I also agree that 2-3mm of missed alignment to easily guide the 80pin cables under ct6x are not perfect, but it works with not to many trouble. (I run my cables to the right anyway, but for testing i had them under the ct63, too)
Pheew, that was a long one :)
Greetings,
Beetle
