A friendly person mailed the binary to me (thanks David!).
Indeed it boots on without the patch cable and the pause is finally gone too - it feels like the Falcon boots twice as fast now ;)
The only downside as MiKRO says, the MAC-string is not null-terminated so it looks a bit messy. On the other hand it scrolls away so fast now you can't hardly see it :)
