I dont think I've ever seen such a quick reply, are you constantly refreshing this page or was it pure luck? :)
I'm specifically interested in if its worth doing fixedpoint at all or if an integer/float mix will hide the cost of floats.
Because there is generally an extra cost of shifting up/down involved when dealing with fixed-point so the number of instruction may go up but at the same time if we're talking about 16-bit it should mean less memory bandwidth.
