FPU capabilities should be nothing short of awesome - especially using handcoded material.
It was already approaching awesome when I was using it on 68040 (float divides every 16 pixels), and 060 just laughs at that old chip. :-)
GCC will certainly use it - although don't expect much from the m68k backend optimizer since it probably predates 060 chip. I'm not even sure how good it is for 040...
