The core of the poodle is this:

The calls used for this stuff are, by definition from Atari, hardware dependent. VsetMode() an VsetScreen() are used to set the VIDEL screen resolution. On the CTPCI, they set the CTPCI resolution, and don't touch the VIDEL.

That means clean applications will fail. Dirty ones will not. Still, I honestly believe that the right way is to write clean & proper applications.
