Although I've had very little experience with the TT030 or STe, I like to start out with a really STUPID, SIMPLE test when trying something new.

Have you tried running a STe hardware scrolling demo on your TT030 which will crash on ANY other machine?

Bypassing all complicated trial & errors with which regs etc, this would ensure your mb/system is compatible in the first place :-)
