500 people buying an atari game? That's not a bonus... that's not even unthinkable... it's something altogether closer to being a miracle of the grandest proportions.
In 2003 there aren't 500 people on the planet who would consider playing a game on an ST... I wouldn't like to guess at the proportion of those who would do so that might evenconsider spending money on one.
