No, i'm afraid not. I think in most STEs, the GSTMCU is also soldered and
not socketed, so i doubt i can easily spare one.
I doubt the TOS has much impact. It selects whether to run the colour
resolution in 50Hz or 60Hz but it can't change hardware dependant
parameters regarding PAL or NTSC anyhow (such as composite video
and the 32MHz base clock). Since your STE seems to be french (no
RF-Modulator), it should be suitable for PAL monitors.
Are there any traces of modifications inside this STE? Any chance of
seening a fairly high resolution picture of the PCB?
