Basicly the DSP is useful for instances when
1) there is little data traffic between cpu and dsp.
2) the dsp can do one thing for itself and the cpu do something different.
for stuff like filling the screen with graphics or even calulating 3d the dsp is slower to use due to the bandwidth limit dsp<>cpu.
However, when the dsp works alone on something (say decoding mpeg audio) and the cpu do something else (say run gem or display demo effects) then it's very very useful.

What's the anti-troll code? That's your personal code to be able to add comments and messages on the dhs.nu site.
Don't have a code or forgot it? Fix it here.
