I dont think its so good to use CPU for DSP apps. Good in demos or apps which arent crucial to OS. But why playing MP3 for example with CPU and hog 80% of CPU, if u can use Falcamp or Aniplayer and use 5-8%... More CPU time for other things... No need to use DSP for jpeg loaders etc i agree
