As far as the USB is concerned, it's possible to turn the power on/off in software. Did you plug a mouse into one of the USB ports, and run my driver?
As for the IDE - I have had no problems with 95mhz. Maybe your IDE cable is suspect, which could show problems at higher speeds...?
The networking though is another story. Anything much over 66Mhz and transfer rates drop to zero really quickly.
