Ahh... Well I think that I was confusing my Falcon with my TT-Video card experiments. I seem to recall one of them would provide color desktop and windows, but the text in windows was drawn as black and white so it was fast. I was imagining that there was some method of getting the Falcon to do this but I think I was just confused.
How about this though... Is there a way to switch display modes when launching a program? Most programs are fine for me in lower color modes, but if I launch an image editor or something, it would be helpful if the color depth was appropriate.
The problem is, with Centscreen and a custom 640x480 true color mode, getting in and out of this resolution can be tricky in MagiC or Mint. There is no direct way (that works) for me to switch between high color and 16 color (for example) at these desktops. Either it crashes, or they don't recognize the new true color mode.
