ScummVM Build from 3/6/06 CVS
Posted by: KeithS Mar,09.2006-20:03

http://www.radix.net/~kws/mint/scummvm-20060306-mint.zip

This is a build of the CVS version of ScummVM (from 3 days ago and newer than the 0.8.2 version). It is built with all options, except scaling, whichs kills GCC on my Falcon.

I have not had time to test this much (I can compile all day remotely, just never am home enough to test on the Falcon).

What I know....

Indy 4 talkie with adlib emulations works, both music and speech, but it about 25% too slow. The adlib emu is the killer I think.

Indy 4 Amiga and Monkey Island 2, with sound, seems to run 100% but the colors/sprites are messed up. Could be fixed with a command line parameter maybe, have not had the time to try.

Loom enhanced with compressed Audio Tracks does not work. The tracks were compressed with Ogg, and I think the problem lies with that, either our library in Sparemint is too old, or something else is wierd in my building. I do not know if this was the FM Towns or the PC version, just another quick game I had for testing.

The program is compiled against Patrice's latest SDL release, Ogg/Vorbis and zlib from Sparemint, and my own builds of libmad and libmpeg2, which might not work properly. Also, MT32 emulation most likely will not work properly as mintlib is missing some of the math functions it uses (I think, or I screwed something else up), and I hacked something together to get it working. Did not test it.

Support has been included for everything on this list:

http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility.php

And, also Future Wars (PC version only), which support only exists in CVS.

I am currently working on getting more of the games.

Test system was a Falcon with a 72 Mhz CT60 and 128 Megs of RAM, 20 Mhz Bus.

I hope to mess with the code some more, but my problem is lack of testing time. I am curious to know if we can use MIDI sound natively (under Mint possibly symlink /dev/sequencer to /dev/midi) but I need to locate my keyboards Power Supply and then some cables..... Have the keyboard Smile

Anyway, thought I would share. My skills in programming are not too great, so I can not say that I can do much work on this port to get it working better. I really do not even know how well it is working!
