I think you fail to see what people are asking for.
They just want another PICTURE displayed at boot, not to do their own intro code or something (even if the idea is neat). For the old flash version, it was just a matter of finding the TARGA and replace the datas (in the BIN-file, and then re-flash it).
In the new flash versions, you're using a compressed image format, so as far as I can tell, there's no way to just replace the datas without recompiling the flashcode. Something which is way way way way more compilcated than just exchange some data.
