Hello,
I did not take time to read this amazing thread... :-((
It's a bit nerving me.
So, I have to explain this :
I launch CTPCI design in 2006 and was forced to go to work far in 2007 & 2008...
The design of CTPCI was advancing very slowly because I was working 10 to 14 hrs days, and the trip time to go back to home the WE was 5 hours.... so that was very short WE and impossible to work on CTPCI. And evening in my studio after 14 hours working I was directly sleeping !
When I come back definitvely at home end of 2008...I had to finish the PCB of CTPCI (I get just time to finish schematics on 2008) what I did in June 2009. The rest of story you know...
I was studying to create my company all 2009..
I have created my company (in the Photovoltaic energy domain)in november 2009 and I was very busy with installing PV on roofs in 2010...and december 2010 was a small window for CTPCI because of important snow here... Modification for EtherNAT.
Now the job situation is different : the french goovernment tried to kill the PV market in France in march 2011 with very bad law (to protect his Nuclear business !) and many companies like mine are now dead (we lost 15.000 employments after March 2011 among a total of 25.000 in the PV domain ! France is number one in the world to kill the jobs of the future ! Fucking country ! Fucking governement !
My compnay is not (yet) dead... I'm like a survivor trying to not die... My last roof installation was last week of november and prevous one was last week of september...as you see I have many forced hollydays :-((
As an independant worker I have no right to get money if jobless...
To avoid bankrout, My wife is cumulating 2 jobs : one the day and one from 2 to 4 nights per weeks (you can imagine how difficult it is for her health !)This means actually that I have money reserve to live slowly up to March... after if I stills have no work (signing new installation on roofs) I will have no more money at all to pay invoices and the house (bank)... and the jobs of my wife are not enough! I will have obligation to go far to find a job... Here in my region there is no more job for me... Like 2002-2003 & in 2007-2008 I may go in Switzerland where it more easy for me to get some jobs as technician with very good salary (*2 to *3 compared to France).
So, I decided to sold out the last CTPCI in my stock just to do money to have chance to stay at home a few weeks more long.... before the fatal issue and use this time to finish CTPCI ! The most time I still at home the more job I do on CTPCI ! Whose who told that I will not finish CTPCI are stupid guys who do not really know me ! Having problem with avalaible time never means cancelling what was begun.
What does this mean for you ?
This means that you can help me by buying a CTPCI (if you want one sure !).
But doing the inverse is stupid because it will just throw me more rapidelly in the financial problems !
And, well understand that if I go to work far, I come back only the WE at home and have no more time at all to do something on atari !
So NOW it is time to not be stupid and support your last developers on atari and not write some bad things about them !!!
These last 2 years it never passed a day I did not think about the CTPCI...it was for me crual to not be able to finish it... but I had no choice !
Now I work on CTPCI and already find the problem with arbiter...
This evening I checked IDE and INT.
The only thing I'm not sure to finish rapidely is the BURST for PLX read from SDRAM (actually we have Single accesses): this is very complex timing problem. PLX write burst to SDRAM will never be possible as I always told because of clock speed difference between SDRAM and PLX (half speed) and no dedicated DATA bus to buffer the PLX DATA BURST. It may be possible with a bigger chip like FPGA with many more pins ...maybe in a next version...
