The CTRL-ALT-DEL problem is one that I also get.
I have had it since I had the CT63 and for me, it has nothign to do with the CTPCI / RADEON and waiting does nothing.
I dont want to say it, but knowing that other people have a similar issue makes me feel better... Sounds bad I know, but I dont mean to be nasty.
The IDE Cables is one that has got me really worked up in the past. I have gone through many cables 40 and 80 pin, I have even gone as far as wrapping the cables in tinfoil, then in insulation tape to avoid any chance of shorting and even earthing the foil to the case and all kinds of paranoid sillyness and in the end I came to only one conclusion... Make the cable as short as possible.
I even had plans of IDE to SATA and I did it for a bit but in the end I went back to IDE purely because I wanted to use an IDE CDROM with it and I didnt cater for 2 SATA.
I am also working on the complete removal of anything SCSI in the setup now too.
This seems to help, or at the very least since physically disconnecting the SCSI drives, I seem to be on less random crashes. This could be just pure chance I know but thats the impression I am getting.
Also irritatingly enough, I still seem to have weirdness when using and not using NVDI when in TOS mode or MINT, but at least thanks to the chaps here I have been running 1024x768x65K for a short while now with no major issues.
