This might be a setting in the boot preference. After hddriver has been loaded, you get a prompt which system to boot (TOS, MagiC or Linux). For TOS and MiNT, you've got to select TOS. The system remembers your choice. This might fail with empty NVRAM battery, though.

AFAIK yes.

It's useful, if your monitor doesn't have two switchable video inputs. The monitor must be connected to the Radeon during boot in order to allow monitor detection to work!

I can't answer this. Most orders work, some don't. Depends on which programs are in use, too.
