Hi to all CT60 users...
This is some news about the ATI Radeon driver, after a pause of 3 years, now the CTPCI arrives and I have more ideas...
You know than the XBIOS is near than the Milan XBIOS, and for exemple like le Milan the TC16 is the same than the Falcon.
By default the XBIOS use extended bits on the modecode, but now it's possible to use all internal screen modes (between 80 and 100) with the XBIOS (Vsetscreen), I use the bit 14 of the modecode for a DEVID flag so excepted the 3 first bits reserved for colors and the bit 15 for virtual screen, others bits are a devID number. The set_video function for change screen inside the desktop is rewrited inside the PCI part like the CPX.
For coding its possible to just use the XBIOS like an F030 in the case the maximum speed is the limitation onf the bridge (in theory 133 MBytes/S...).
If you use the VDI or use the radeon memory the maximum speed is 2.5GByte/S on my radeon.
Another feature of XBIOS is VIDIX (January 2007) used inside my unfinished rnew release of Aniplayer, where you can use your current screen (for exemple 1600 x 1400 x 16M ) and play a video 320 x 240 in full screen, resized by the Radeon.
Today I rewrite radeon_render.c (from Xfree sources) for get 3D accel (R100 / R200 only), but now it's another story for use it... 3D is an unknow world for me, and now what is the method of integration inside the TOS, VDI ? XBIOS ? Cookie for OpenGL ?, etc..
There are fonctions for build textures on 3D surface.
Actually I have 2 radeon boards, a 9250 on my coldfire board M5484LITE, and a 7500 All In Wonder VE, who normally can get video input or TV but this work in unfinished.
