CT60 speed after CTPCI updates
Posted by: Mac-Falcon^ Sep,10.2009-09:30

Hello my friends,

on 5th OFAM there were 6 CT60 Falcons to be flashed to latest ABE and SDR versions. The experiences have been good so far. Memory speed seems to be a little slower, but one achieved clocking his CT60 to 108 MHz, what he wasn´t possible to do before.

With my CT63 (one of the first or 2nd CT63 batch) I experienced the following:

BEFORE upgrading I had it running stable (!) at 95 MHz, played Quake, watched Demos, all the fun stuff. I even was able to run it at 105 MHz without Falcon case for a while. Now AFTER upgrade I am not able to run it faster than 92 MHz and even that seems not be really stable :(. I have ethernat installed and tried with and without ethernat... no change. Now I went down to 90 MHz and that seems to be stable. When I tried with downgrade to ABE and SDR5 again, I can overclock to 95 and 105 MHz again...
I doubt that I will feel much differences in speed, but it was nice to read a faster value ;)

Really strange...

Best regards,

Chris
