Basically, you are comparing apples, oranges and juice boxes...

MiNT as in Mint is Now Tos is a kernel in itself - the heart of the operating system if you wish.

Sparemint and KGMD are examples of distributions featuring the MiNT kernel. This is much comparable to Linux Mint, Ubuntu, knoppix and so on. And if the kernel is the heart, these are the entire body - featuring the kernel _and_ a lot of other software. Together they make up the operating system (Alltho this has been the theme for many heated discussions. But lets not get all Stallman up in here please)...
