Re: MiNT

In that case, MiNT, which is based around ubuntu ( Which in itself is a DEBIAN Based Distro ). I thing that MiNT v5.3 is based on Ubuntu 8.4

We are currently on Ubuntu 9.4
The next release of ubuntu will be 9.10 and Ubuntu has a 6 month release cycle. the 9 is the major release and the 4 or the 10 is the month of its release, so next version is due in October, hence v9.10
With MiNT we are currently at RC7 and this is based around ubuntu v9.4

As for MiNT on the Atari, this has clearly been covered by Anders but we are currently at 1.16.1 ( Beta 1.7 )

Now, since both Linux MiNT and Ubuntu both have very fast release cycles, we cannot compare the Atari's FreeMiNT with these, ( We cannot anyway as they are totally different, but lets do it anyway ) and so, maybe we could compare it with Debian itself? Debian is currently at 5.0.1

Now the Kernel for linux is currently at 2.6 and the Kernel for FreeMiNT is at 1.6
And just to throw the spanner into the works, The Magic Kernel is at 6.2
