PMMU question
Posted by: Laurent / Thadoss Mar,13.2014-18:52

Hi,

I read today that the PMMU is activated by default under the GEM/TOS and launching a demo (or a game in my case ;) may slow the falcon by a little when it reads memory (because of the PMMU access to the MAP tree).

The author suggested to disable it and restore it when the program is finished.

Is it true ? Does it really eat some cycles for each memory access by défault ?

If yes, is there a nice and elegant piece of code that I could use to disable/restore the PMMU into RACER ?

Regards

Laurent
