Yes well it's not like my brain is functioning too well ;).

My idea is, if you're updating plane 1 in your logical buffer then you should show the palette for it once it's visible (i.e. when you swap screens), not during calculation!

In other words, try giving your palettes a delay of 2 frames, see what happens?

vbl 1: 3,2,1
vbl 2: 3,2,1
vbl 3: 1,3,2
vbl 4: 1,3,2
vbl 5: 2,1,3
vbl 6: 2,1,3
