To those who complain like "why not straight on PC ?" .
I already answered it in diverse threads.
25fps 320x200 px (and even less, like 320x160) with hi-color is simply not possible with regular hard disk interfaces, and especcially not with ACSI port and DMA. DMA stops CPU, as we see in this thread.
You need data rates in range of 2-3MB/sec for that.
I did it with my existing solution of cartridge port IDE adapter. Only needed to update ROM code and logic little - for some special modes. But line cut is old solution for faster loadings.
With updated ROM code I can achieve 3MB/sec loading speed, and it is way fastest on ST(E). Is it good for anything other ? Speed is always good, I can say. Especially if it costs not much. CATA if is not complicated - much simpler and cheaper to build than UltraSatan. Hopefully, soon production will start.
And then some will complain why no fast read on ST, why no write on Falcon etc.. :-)
Considering Synclock and loading from floppy - I see as main problem that you can not predict exact moment when floppy will start DMA transfers. Only solution would be to rotate floppy before sync code some time, and thean could predict it little better - but it is likely too complicated and maybe not suitable for all cases. Get some IDE adapter, where CPU handles data load - then can sync for sure :-)
