I'm now using the method in the code you posted Evil which on the whole works however when the screen gets filled with lots of objects the border then flickers on and off, but I think (fingers crossed) I am on the way to sorting all of this out. :)

One question: do you use mul/div or big movem instructions apart from the blitter as well? That can delay the interupt further 0.3 scanlines or so.

I ask because my example code uses blitter over the entire vbl, and then even into the next one, and the border is steady. If I would add mul/div/movem into the mix it might not be working as good.
