what a coincidence, i just pressed refresh and I see you posted it 2 mins ago :)
okay -- i have one idea but if i'm right you're going to kick to your ass by yourself ;-)
you're copying that sdl stuff from non-ext2 drive, aren't you? if so, no wonder it doesn't work... guess why? oh yes, file attributes destroyed again... ;)
so, now, do it in the right way:
- rm -rf /usr/local (I expect you have nothing except sdl here!)
- cd /
- tar xzf /path/to/sdl-mint.tar.gz
- rpm -i /path/to/ldg-dev.rpm
- cd /root
- tar xzf /path/to/toppler.tar.gz
- cd toppler
- ./configure
NO WAY this wont work.
and again: forget, forget, forget about non-ext2 drives under mint! use them just as archive/storage medias, never as working drives for your unix stuff!
