Pairing does not affect the optimistic lower bound I described; in the example of two ADD.L Dn,Dm it will give a total lower bound of 8 cycles (two words of instruction fetch x 4 cycles). On its own, it is not all that useful for accurate performance estimations, but it can be useful for doing sanity checks.
