Two questions basically:
1. Is STE DMA sound count register a pointer to where the actuall DMA chip is within a currently replayed sample?
2. Does anyone know of a program that can convert pictures that use the STE extended palette. By this what I mean is I am converting an image from the PC, making it greyscale then downscaling the depth to 4-bit (16 cols), however what I need is to use the extra grey's of the STE. The only program I have can with Spectrum 512 and that only uses the STF palette.
