Hi,
no it's not that difficult, but the sound will not be ST-authentic because the built-in mixer is pretty crappy and have some side-effects that impact the sound.
Also one major deal is that playing samples (digidrums excepted) won't work very well as they uses all channels and rely on the bad-ish internal mixer.
