Thanks for your insite evil. Its nice when someone technical as yourself add their thoughts to a discussion like this.
It was not meant as a 'war' type thread just interested technical pros and cons of the Falcon in general.
That is also why I asked what people would have liked to have seen implemented/changed in the final Falcon design based around the same price.
I wish they hadn't tried to make it STe compatiable and viewed it as a new platform all together.
Got rid of the ST sound chip, blitter etc. and increase the BUS to 32 bits & 32Mhz (possible?) along with a speed increase of the 030 to 32Mhz.
Am I also right in thinking that the way the DSP accesses the RAM it has to go through the CPU first? Instead of DMA?
What would you like to have seen changed before the final Falcon design? Your obviously a lot more clued up with the inner workings so would give a better technical reason behind them :)
