you're right gwem, i was quite surprised in the beginning as well. the problem is the whole concept of such assembler is to produce some (platform independent) object file and finally let the linker to make the dirty work (i.e. to produce platform depend binary).

But nothing is lost, since he is an author of both vasm and vlink, maybe there's some solution, try to kindly ask him ;-)
