hi all,
this isn't exactly scene related question but it relates to some scene stuff certainly :) it wont be probably big surprise I'm working on Ocean Machine as the next step.
Good news are the demo is from 90% done.
Bad news are I'm unable to convert that nice track. For some reason we're unable to contact with original author so we have two options:
- resample original mp3/256kbps/44100 to mp2/160kbps/32000 -- some quality loss but it will be still stereo
- resample original wav/44100 to the same mp2 format as above -- just wav->mp2 quality loss, but it's mono(!)
I'd like to ask you two questions:
- which option would you prefer?
- how to convert that damn 44100 to 32000?
I tried two tools for that, the easiest way was ffmpeg -i <mp3/wav file> -ab 160k -ar 32000 <mp2 file>. the result is ok but... not totally ok... after some seconds music gets unsynced and for example the open eye flash is out of sync with music about 1 second...
So either that tool isn't as good as it should be or I'm doing something totally wrong...
I'd welcome if some experienced musician could download http://www.crankshaft.fi/mp3/Crankshaft_-_Ocean_Machine.mp3 and try to generate 1:1 mp2 file with mentioned parameters (I assume if this will work and you'll want that mono WAV file, this wont be problem then).
