just wanted to add that one of the main problems of the Atari scene is that we all change and come slowly into the years, I better wont try to check how old the majority of the Atari sceners is today and with the obviously lack of new talented and open minded young newcomers that overall are able to stand criticism and use it to develop their skills and move forwards, our days are some way counted out... not today, not next week, not next year... but the most of us are already "alte säcke" with other things to do than Atari for 24 hours... I know, strange words by me if I remember my old slogan from 8 - 9 years back (no retreat - no surrender) but what to say, some days I´m surfing around, checking the things to go and there is some strange feeling in my fingers, just to write or pixel something, sometimes I even try to start, but with the little spare time I have since some longer time, I burry it quite fast, again... do you know why? As Marcer said, do it for fun, not for fame... the last things I did caused such a pain in the ass that it really wasn´t fun anymore... and fame, what means "fame" in our little scene? I have to say, I still have a folder on my HDD saying UCM#26... untouched since over 2 years already... and I better leave it in this state. To work on it would set me under pressure, under pressure to do something I wouldn´t have the time for, the lack of time would set me under pressure much more and it would start to be pain quite fast, again... I have to say, my little free time shouldn´t have to be filled with pain in the ass... so I just leave it and enjoy real life therefore as it could be damn short sometimes... I just want to underline that people, views, things, habbits change, some more, some less, but they will do so...
If I look back about 15 years as I entered the Atari scene I feel like an old fart nowadays, an old Atari-fart especially and this is still cool. I´m happy about my youngster times in the beginning nineties, I got my little fame in the late nineties and overall a lot of fun over all the years... and the last point is the one that brings me back from time to time, even just to hang around some minutes and write some dementia-engaged bullshit... harhar...
So just stay relaxed - stay Atari and use your time the way you want - as its YOUR time, pressure kills - criticism usually not... and remember - sometimes they come back, more or less ;)
