summer hole, winter hibernation:
atarisceners are only active for brief periods in the spring to work on fake demos and bootsectors for the easter festivals... and in the autumn to work on massive epic demos, which ironically have terminal bit rot in the demosystem and will never be released.
as para says, massive epic demos would cause complaints like "ste only" or "why the hdd crap - we want custom boot sectors" or "your hardcore dsp shit dont work on my obscure accelerator" or "bizarre screen mode - give me VGA60" or "060 not a real atari" or (most sad of all) "wtf??! another c-rem graphics rip"
the other half of the scene says "why not support something else than vanilla stf" or "msa sucks! i want hdd installable" or "mp2 player again! we want real dsp" or "i have an RGB screen" or "dhs please spend years on library development so you have all routines TBL has and we can finally go to breakpoint with our head high" or "coder pr0n, wheres the design and gfx?!"
when fake demos are released people say "fight the fake shit"... after bootsectors "now a real demo please"
i guess this is meant half as a joke and half serious...
