Hum hum hum...do stuff because you like to or beat it, i guess.
On the other hand critizism has differnt shades.
You can critise to destroy or improve soemthing and sometimes to simply share your view on things.
I doubt, that different views and different systems (f030,ct060,ste,stf etc.) are really the problem.
Real life plays a big role as well as people changing.
Some burn for years, eager to do better and better stuff and then they loose interest.
Others simply run out of sparetime to do stuff.
Maybe sometimes wrong critizism at a wrong point of time can cause an individual to quit. But all who do demos games etc. have to keep in mind, that they do public stuff.
Resulting in the risk of being critised.
My first gfx for example, was a total desaster when i showed it to people and this went on for a long time.
And still today a lot of my stuff causes people rather to pity me than to cheer.
What a tough fate, but who cares...:-D
