this is the question, if they are the right "directions", in the german there's written "ide -> sata" and "sata -> ide" so it should be OK but I don't know...
the trick is I will have the minimal IDE (PATA) "cable" length and I can use longer cables for this SATA devices. But some of them (that card reader) I can't buy in SATA variant (as opposite to normal harddisk) so I have to use SATA->IDE again. We discussed this some threads below with Peter.
