That's all I do as well. gen.ttp seems to actually check if the machine has fpu when it assembles. Extremly stupid.
Is your 060 a full one and is the FPU cookie correct?
Do you use genst or gentt? Perhaps this makes a difference as well.. (I use gentt, eg the binary found in bin030). Earlier ct60 tos images didn't have working fpu in mint, is your tos image up to date?
