refresh rates on tft/lcd displays can get as low as the adapter board allows. under 50hz is no problem whatsoever for the panel itself, if anything craps out it's usually the (cheaply designed) adapter board (that some brainless hongkongese cubeworker assumed would only be used with windoze peecees).
at home i'm using a philips 190G6 atm.. it's got about the same features as evl's eizo, but also svideo and scart connectors. if you can still buy it somewhere, this model is highly recommended imho :)
